ISLAMABAD: The Interior Ministry on Monday notified Senator Qayyum Soomro that he had to pay an a
mount of Rs 1,375,899 for his illegal and unauthorised use of an official vehicle.
According to a ministry press release, the
sizeable a
mount a
ccounted for the money spent on the repair
of the vehicle during the years that it was in unauthorised use.
The senator had been illegally using the vehicle for his own personal and domestic use since 2008.
The ministry gave Soomro a 15 day notice period for the recovery
of the amount.
